Just about everything develops growth under water. Diatoms grow and tightly adhere to glass underwater which is how periphyton can be collected for environmental studies. Makes sense. When I have reason to pull up the diffusers, I will try to remember to take a couple of pics to post back as a data point for teflon coated sticks.
