But as I sit here waiting for things to warm up a smidge, I was reminded of Robert A. Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land".

To paraphrase, "Stranger in a Strange Land is the epic saga of a Nebraskan, Thomas Hudson, born and educated in Lincoln NE, who arrives in Texas with ''psi'' powers -- telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, telekinesis, teleportation, pyrolysis, and the ability to take control of the minds of others -- and complete innocence regarding the mores of man."
