I always found them tangled up in wads of vegetation. Yep, good stands of vegetation are one of the keys to having scuds present. ![wink wink](/images/graemlins/default/wink.gif) I found this one in my dad's old pond while raking up vegetation along the shore. Hyalella azteca I believe.
