My main rule is: if you fish on my pond then you have to use circle hooks. I supply the hooks. 95% of the fish are hooked in the corner or top of the mouth. The one thing that they have to get used to is not "setting the hook". If you set the hook with a circle hook then you normally pull it out of the fish's mouth. Simply raise the rod tip and it will catch in the corner of the mouth.
