How long does a bloom last
For the last couple of weeks I'v seen spots of green start coming on the pond
With each day seems to be more and more
Now the pond is about 15 feet deep with about 6 feet to go and pretty muddy
and might be suspended clay and you can only see a few inches after theses past
Two rains
Will it stop blooming or do I need to do something at some point ?

Well by this evening the entire pond is green
This is not a surface film so I guess it a bloom
Is this a good thing ?

Measure bloom with a secchi disk. If the reading is less than 12" and it is due only to the bloom, then something should be done. If that's the case, then I'd treat portions of the pond with Phycomycin or a similar product.

A phytoplankton bloom is the base of the food pyramid in a pond.
