You can easily afford the black vinyl water tubing available at the hardware store, and can get it for roughly 1/2 the price of garden hose for 1" ID stuff. Fittings and all! It just cannot take kinking too well. Even if it were 2X the cost, it would pay for itself in electric savings in a short time, garden hose usually has a textured interior to some degree and is not designed to carry large quantities of water.
