Tractor radios. In days of yore you could often hear a tractor radio over the sound of the tractor's engine in a neighboring field. Now they either have a cab, or the operator is using head phones.

Pumping the accelerator pedal once to set the choke...I remember the sound it made when the hood was up and the butterfly snapped shut...

"A little more....no, go back the other way".....heard countless times as a boy while reaching out the window in our living room, pipe wrench in hand, rotating the pipe that held the TV antennae... My kids wouldn't have any idea how to do that today..

The sound those old analog tuners made while switching channels....thunk, thunk, thunk....
