With 3D printing hitting the scenes, you'll soon be able to do your own replicas of actual fish you caught.

Autodesk Labs had a technology software preview of one of their products. I forget the name of it, but how this worked is, you need to take at least 3 pictures of an object, more is better. Thru cloud computing, this software would compile the pictures into a 3D image. Once you have a 3D image, you could send it to your 3D printer, and soon after you would have an actual, physical 3 dimensional model of the image that was generated on your screen.

The printer resolutions are getting better, and the prices are coming down. This is not super new technology, it's been around in various industries/labs for a few years now.
