I just installed a 1/4 hp 4 cfm rotary vein compressor for my 4 acre pond. Because of the low cost of the compressor I was wondering if it would be benificial to get another compressor and plumb it into my 1" Line to the pond and run two more 9" diffusers. My deep spot is about 8' deep and approx 20'x50', and the remainder of the pond is shallower and very mucky. The pond is a natural pond and is very mucky on the bottom. So the question is, could two compressors be plumbed to push into that 1" line and then at the shore line, build a header with four outlets instead of two. Is this technically possible? Thanks

Million,

I just saw your post. Yes, compressors can be placed into series into a single line being fed to the lake. Our AP4-AP6 units are manufactured in that manor to increase the CFM available.

How many diffusers do you have in the pond with the single compressor? What type are they? What is the CFM requirement for these diffusers? What is the total amount of 1" line and what is the total amount of line in the pond and size?

All of these questions are used to size a system properly.

Hi Carey, there is a 1" line running 130' to the pond. I am currently running two 9" membrane diffusers from aquatec with each having 100' of 1/2" line from the shore. I am also pushing air into a 4" airstone from aquatec into a small goldfish pond (maybe 20'x50' big) that sits along side and isolated from the main pond. I have adjusted the valving and have a nice boil with all. So, I wonder if adding a compressor and two or three more diffusers to the deep area would be benificial. Thanks
