My Illinois Buck
Still a little in shock I hunt hard and spend quite a bit of time chasing big bucks but did not expect this.

Whoa! Either Illinois grows monster buck or the Condello Picture Method works with antlers, too. Geeze! Looks like a very good shot, too. Great job!

I too am not sure about Illinois, but that would easily make a man stop hunting if it were in Maryland. VERY few get that large here (over population issues).
Congrats!

I'm not sure I'd go in the woods unarmed if we had deer like that around here. That thing looks like it could get real mean if it decided it didn't want you in its territory. I'm not sure why ours don't get anywhere that size, but as said above, we have a serious over population issue. Plus, we don't have 'feed plots' that stretch as far as the eye can see in parts of Illinois and Indiana. But, there is obviously a lot more to it than just those factors. Good luck all. Our main season opens Monday.

Highflyer, that is not a fish. That is a button buck! Congrats again, Greg.
Funny story- On Monday, Greg was over the limit for the amount of texts he could send on his phone (too cheap to get an unlmited plan). Greg was keeping Nate and I updated on his hunts, but after realizing that he was over the limit, Greg asked that Nate and I only email him. Then he kills the monster. Being good friends, Nate and I started a texting dialogue and made sure to copy Greg on every text message. Greg got a trophy of a lifetime and an extra $30 tagged on to his phone bill. We knew he was on Cloud 9 so he took our practical joke like a champ. I guess we owe him the first couple of rounds at the next PB Conf.

Congrats Greg!
Yes folks Illinois has big bucks and so does Indiana. Back when I used to do deer (I've specialized in fish for at least 15 years) I used to get in some dandies.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
