One thing that just occured to me when you talked about the fishing pole. I will have to take a look and see how low the wires are there. Sure wouldn't want to have someone throw a line up into them. Its right in the middle of the two towers where the line is the lowest. They would have to actually be trying to accomplish this, but we all know how that goes!
I've actually hit the 500,000 volt lines, more than a few times, with my fly line. Nothing bad happened, but I've gotten a lot more cautious.
