I just had a pond built, about 1/2 to 3/4 acre. It is filling up slow but sure. The water is very stained like chocolate milk. It has a few seeps to fill it but also collects a lot of runoff. With the warm weather and dry, it has been hard to establish vegetation around it. Will the pond clean up on its own? I am concerned it is filling up with silt or is this normal. Any thoughts / advice would be great. New to this pond thing and trying to not make costly mistakes. Thanks

Pictures of the pond really help.
Also, fill a Mason jar with water and set it on a shelf, take a picture of that, too.
