I am building a 3 acre pond that doesn't quite have enough watershed and am relying heavily on a well. The contractor says he can build a berm and ditch to catch about 6-8 acres of pasture and house drainage to divert into the pond. He plans to make a small pool with a fenestrated pipe in the bottom of the pool to slowly catch the water and deposit it into the pond through a pipe in the levee. I will eventually have 20-30 alpacas(minature llamas) on the land so not a huge fecal burden I am hoping. What are ya'lls thoughts on this method and if the fecal matter will contaminate the pond? Thanks
