this past year is the first year any vegetation has grown in my pond, now I have had what I guess is algae?? take over. It is what we call snot grass when fishing. Just a green slimy algae I guess. Who can educate me whats going on and how to prevent/deter/fix it?
I'm in MO and the pond is about 1/3-1/2 acre. thanks yall
I thought it was from "the land down under" because on my computer they showed up upside down.
The color comes from an algae bloom. If you don't figure out how all the nutrients are getting into the water, (and stop them) pretty soon you'll have floating Filamentous Algae (FA), or if it all dies at once you might have a fish kill.
Like was said in another thread, Cutrine Liquid will kill the bloom, but be careful not to treat the whole BOW at once if there are fish in there.
