I took a "rookie" friend out fishing tonight. Gave him some instructions on using a spinning reel and working a senko correctly...a few minutes later he tied into this beauty! I've caught bass longer than this in the couple years I've been fishing my pond, but nothing as slob-like. It was just over 19 inches and around 4 pounds. I only had a "spring" scale - not my digital, so the weight will have to be approximate. Very excited about this guy! I'm surprised it's so fat...it couldn't still have eggs this time of year, could it? Sure looks like a bulge in the tummy.

Nice fish! No no eggs this time of year. Just big fish and frogs!! That fish is full of something but it's not eggs I bet you! That's why its so big, it's been eating real good!
The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!
