Cat I am glad to hear you say that. Seems that happens to me also. Sometimes I swear I don't have any bass in my pond at all?? Then you start second guessing yourself as to what you did for this to happen! And it's not anything just fish being fish! 
The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!
