Any thoughts on using the ponds a beaver made behind my dam as grow out ponds for gambusia or something else? I was just thinking they might work for that and 2 are pretty decent in size so may not dry up except during droughts. They were low spots that held water and are now little dugout ponds from the beaver pushing mud up to form a dam at the drain areas. All of these Anderson fry threads got me thinking that I may have some grow out ponds of my own now.

What the beaver's buildeth and can taketh away. As long as you are willing to except your loss if the dam fails and your fish go by by down stream, then I don't see anything wrong with using what they are providing.

You currently have grow out ponds for mosquitos. Dang right I would get something going in there.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
