Here's what the cages that I built for myself look like. I had thought I posted a material and cut list of the PVC last night but I can't find it now. I used 1" PVC for the frame. 4' high, 4' wide and 4.5' long. I made 2 cages from a 50' roll of plastic mesh that I picked up at http://www.stoneycreekequip.com/form/netting.htm I used 1.5 gallon bleach bottles, or 1 gallon milk bottles. I found that if I were to put the bottom of the bottle slightly below the top of the cage, that was a good place to tie the bottle to the cage. Any higher and the cage would float too low in the water. With a top on it, you need to keep the snow knocked off it or it'll sink too low in the water. I didn't put a sun screen on top like Cecil does because I had it in the shade under a tree. I didn't care about the CC cage because they'll be cut up for the next fish fry. I used some chickenwire that I had laying around for the top of the BG cage to keep the heron out. Cage holding the CC. No top needed. I know the milk bottles won't last more than a year, but I was hoping that's all that it would take.

Thanks Scott. I will use this and your other posts as a guide for building these, hopefully this weekend if I can find all the materials...and time.

I did. I'm swamped at work, but I'm printing off the information, including the material list you posted yesterday. Should be able to make sense of it from what you've provided. Thanks!

Scott,
I never thought of using a 't' and then an elbow if one didn't have the three way connectors. Ya learn something every day!
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

If I had to make my frames again, I'd use two "T"'s on each side. That was if I wanted to pick it up and hold it against the pier it would be easier.
I mis calculated and only bought enough "T"'s to make one cage the right way, and instead of going to the store again I just split the "T"'s between the 2 cages.

They're so pretty when they are new. They're good as new if you use a power washer on them after use for the season.
