There's a couple of possibilities: 1) something/someone removed the LMB that was guarding the nest and the BG are there eating the eggs. 2) most of the LMB eggs hatched and they moved out of the nest site, leaving it unguarded so the BG could clean up the unhatched eggs.
Is each BG in it's own depression (nest)? or are they all in the former LMB nest just slowly swimming around and nosing into the bottom every once in a while?
