2 questions. There were 2 LMB living under my pier that would feast on the BG when they were eating. They've disappeared in the last 3 days. Surface water temps are 74. Could they have gone to spawn? Also, my feed trained LMB are feeding much slower the last 3 days. Is this from the water temps?

I want to say that the LMB spawn in cooler temps than 74 degrees, but that doesn't mean that they didn't go off to spawn.
The slowed down feeding could be due to spawning.
Let's see what others have to say.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

Could they have gone to spawn? --- Yes.
Also, my feed trained LMB are feeding much slower the last 3 days. Is this from the water temps? --- no 74 is optimum foraging temp . Probably spawning.

This time of year LMB are very on again off again with how they feed. One minute you could throw a brick at them and they would eat it and the next minute you would think there isn't a LMB in my pond anywhere. This seems to pan out around the end of April and first part of May. They get more on a regular feeding plan again. This does have a lot to do with spawning. Bass come out of their winter funk looking to eat, eat, eat and then when it's about time to spawn BANG, they will shutdown for a while. Then after they are done spawing and all is good they will pick back up and start eating agian. Female bass are won't hardly eat at all once they hit that bed! Most time you almost have to make them mad at your lure before they will actually bite it. So don't worry I think what your seeing is normal for this time of year in any lake or pond.

Hey docg,
Yeah that's the way it works this time of year. Glad I could help out. So your fine bud, your fish just don't know when they want or don't want to eat right now. It's either feast or famine! Have a good one.
