walked around the pond about 45 minutes before dark today. i saw a tilapia swimming in the upper end.. i ran and launched the boat with net in hand.. i caught 2 and saw another. i am gonna try early in the morning to catch some more.. i wanna eat them!!! i put them in a basket. i hope they make it over night.. i checked the water and it was dead on 50 degrees..
FINALLY!!!!! now i know!!!!

i just finished filleting 6 of them. i hope to be able to catch more tomorrow.. i dont have a way to overwinter them.

i would guess the largest at 2 lbs easily..the five largest were healthy looking. the smallest/youngest was kinda skinny looking. i had heard that by the time they got to the point of almost dieing that they would have already lost alot of weight. that didnt seem to be the case except on the little one.

i saw several more in the upper end of the pond this evening.. they didnt seem sluggish at all.. we had a nice warm day today, after a night of rain..gonna be cold the next few days though..

I was at a clients ranch on Saturday and saw several that were just about dead. Probably same stage as yours were in. Hope you enjoyed the fruits of your labor. They are a versatile fish. First they feed your bass then they feed you. What more can you ask for.
