The only recommendations that I have about chains is to actually put them on a time or two at home in decent weather. It's no fun trying to figure out how to put them on when it's snowin' and blowin'.

I thought all So. Ca. people had chains if the did any driving in the mountains. I remember going snow skiing a few times and we had to chain up as we went up the mountain, or turn around and go home 4-wheel drive or not. If you've got 4 wheel drive, you need two sets, one for each corner, and don't expect to be setting any speed records.
