These are the fish and other 1. Large mouth bass
2. bluegill
3. fathead minnows
4. frogs
5. crayfish
6. trout
LMB are definatly going to be stocked. Bluegill are going to be stocked also. Fatheads are probably going to be stocked. crayfish will find their way in. There are already frogs. We might stock trout.
Sounds good??????????????
The pond issue is going alot better. There is more but, I have to go.

If you have a chance, get the forage fish in first before the LMB.
More details please, when you have time.

Therrien, do yourselfa dn him a HUGE facor: FHM with flat sturcture for apawning, 3-5" BG, with a smatteing of "adult immigrants with green cards" from other waters, THEN AND ONLY THEN a year later, put in your LMB. AGAIN, how is your strcture?
It sonds as though your too anxious to stock all varieties of fish too quick. Hope you're p[aying real close attention to the quality of water and structure BEFORE you put a single fish in the water.
Just sayin ------ Jim

"Therrien, is your first name Jeff?"
Or "Michel?"

The pond structure is OK could be better. There are three large rock piles. Mr. "G" will not let us put any branches and such in though.

I wondered if you were the former coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Michel Therrien.

Just sayin ------ Jim Stocking forage species before the bass could help if he's going mainly for big bass (I confess I don't remember his goals for the pond, just that he's dealing with a pond owner who doesn't want to use hatchery fish). But if he's interested in having good-sized bluegill, stocking the bluegill a year before the bass is a recipe for disaster in his region as the bluegill will severely overpopulate, if not by the time the bass are stocked (probably will have happened by then) then most certainly by the time the bass get big enough to eat intermediate bluegill. Note that many northern DNRs recommend stocking the bass a year before the bluegill just to lessen the chance of overpopulation.

If you are stocking adult fish, as Walt said you're looking at way too many BG being reproduced if you wait a year before stocking the bass unless you are looking for a trophy bass. Since you will be going the adult route, for a balanced fishery, stock LMB in the 10"-14" size and around 20 fish. Stock around 100 BG at 3"-5"+ in size. 1 LMB to 5 BG is a typical recommendation. If you plan to stock FHM, I would get them in the pond at least 6 months prior to the stocking of the bass or they are going to be a waste. It's important that are enough FHM to feed your bass until your BG pull off their first spawn. That way the bass have something to eat before they can start eating baby BG... Now if you stock BG in advance of the LMB and they pull off a spawn, the stocking of FHM is a waste IMO.

My name is not Michel or Jeff ;). Why are you interested ;)? I had two computer generated calls to my cell number (also my business line) asking if I were Jeff Therrien. I had this happen a couple years ago when a customer used a computer program to ask me to return his call and he accidentally reversed the names on the text. FWIW, If your name HAD been Jeff, the explanation for asking would have come in a private message and not the public post. I would never intentionally post potentially embarassing info, unless it were about Jhap, sunil, esshup, TomG...........

If at any way possible, try like heck to get the FHM stocked this Fall at a minimum, and if the BG could go in as well, it would be nice. They will feed and grow over the Fall and into a part of the winter, plus they will have a better head start on any predators that will get stocked next year.
Thanks Rainman. I think...............
