So far, on just coffee grounds, mine are doing OK.
You know, mine died during our 2 weeks of 103 to 108 degree heat. I don't know if that's a clue as to what went wrong. When ours went it wasn't super hot, but really wet. The bin grew mold and lots of little flies even though I turned it constantly.

What generated the mold? I found some weevils in some cereal the other day so I dumped it for the worms. It got all moldy and I dug it out and consigned it to the flower beds.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Really, really nervous ones.

I've always got extra things growning in my worm bed -- from mold, to flies, to cornworms, to spiders. It has never seemed to bother my worms. The worst thing to happen to mine was when the chickens got in and ate most of the worms. I've thrown moldy fish feed, moldy chicken feed, and cracked corn with lots of little black bugs into the bin, and the food was all consumed. I've never tried the DMD grounds.
