I've never seen one that big.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I'm usually one of the first people to claim "photoshop" on the e-mails showing various wildlife that make the rounds.
I've seen this one before, and as best I can tell, it is legit.
That thing is HUGE, by the way.

Shame it doesn't have a head. Would have made a beautiful hide mount. I'm envious.

Tastes like chicken! Any recipes Ken? Many years ago, I had close friends from Tecumseh, OK. Every year, their parents would visit, and bring us a bunch of rattlesnake meat from a "roundup." It doesn't really taste like chicken. It is somewhat gamey, but not bad. I always soaked it in a salt brine overnight before doing anything else with it. Unless I was roasting it, I usually boiled it until it was falling off the bones. Then it could be used in any number of recipes or BBQ. If cut into 2-inch steaks, it can be roasted or it can be poached, much like you would fix a big walleye or lake trout. If poaching, boil up a big pot of water. Add a quarter pound stick of butter to the boiling water. Once the butter melts, drop in a quartered large sweet onion, or two. Quarter enough potatoes to feed the eaters, and drop them into the water. Then drop in the 2-inch snake steaks. Keep boiling until the potatoes are done. Drop in enough ears of corn so everybody can have one. Let the corn cook for two or three minutes. Pull everything out through the butter floating on the surface of the water. Serve. Enjoy! Good Eatn' Ken

I only had rattle snake once when a friend of my dad killed one that kept hanging out around his log pile. I was 10 and don't remember much about it. I know I like alligator though, with them being reptiles, do they taste similar?
