This thread got me thinking about being a motor head.
Stuff I have done that qualifies me as a motor head:
Raced on the drag strip for several years. Built my own engines. Raced on the dirt tracks for several years. Built my own cars top to bottom. Street racing addict back in the late 60s and early 70s.
Run past 150 mph on multiple street bikes. Done a lot of dirt biking. Modified my Yamaha GP433 Snowmobile so it would go 100mph on the stubble fields of North Dakota.
Had a 3/32 mile dirt track on our property where part of the pond is now. It was great fun for flat tracking bikes and etc.
Modified a 350 Kawasaki street bike into a flat tracker. It was called the Widow Maker. That bike caused a lot of pain to a lot of people on our track.
Built a go-kart with a modified 350 R3 that would go 80mph on the road and lay rubber in the first 3 gears. I would run that go-kart at full throttle up against the berm on our track never lifting. Intense!
Well, I could go on, but you get the picture.
