Here's the place right after we bought it in late fall '03. That's my # 2 son Matt thinking this place stinks! The dig starts right after July 4th '04 Gotta break a few eggs: Now we're getting somewhere. does'nt seem big enough. Cut a little wider and added stone. Of course now it doesn't rain for 2 months! This is about the same angle as the 1st pic 4 years later. I have since made a border of hand picked # 1 river rock around the whole pond. Put down # 2 river rock over the nasty sharp limestone that my contractor originaly put down. I am getting close, but can't say it's finished yet. I would be remiss if I didn't include a picture of my faithful stead, The old girl has hauled hundreds of tons of river rock with out so much as a hiccup.

Neat pictures! Do you have a well to keep it full? It doesn't look like it has much watershed.

No Aquashade, It's been running out the overflow for the last 3 weeks and I could take a pic right now and it is the same color as in the pics. No well, the first 2 Summers I ran the garden hose occasionally in July/August(7-8 days each month). The last 2 years, I let nature take it's course and the levels dropped 2-2.5 ft. There is not a great amount of runoff, but around here we have old clay pits all over the place(used to be a big tile kiln in town years back). When my contractor dug the thing, he took many tri-axles of the blue clay to his home to make a levee.

Clearing the north fence row, prepping my garden, touching up my driveway and finishing up my firewood for next season. I check in from time to time.
