Between running my own forum and my spice company - I've been pretty busy, not to mention a real job (to pay the real bills), family, church...you get the picture. I just dont have as much time as I like to come visit.
My big pond is doing well, saw some nice LMB come out of there last year...small pond is full of (spoiled) channel cats. My Mom and Dad keep them well fed and treat them like family pets. We never saw any of the GA. Giants - not sure any of them survived the stocking (or trip from GA).
We had to remove my big gator, we became too friendly and was chasing us all over the pond. Everytime you would hook a bass he thought it was dinner time. It got a little too close for comfort. Shortly after removing him a couple more smaller ones showed up. I guess we will always have gators...and beavers too.
I have also been busy with by BBQ Spice company. Our sauce recently took first place at the National BBQ Associations Annual Expo. It was quite a thrill.
I'll try to stop by more often, also come by and say hey on the Texas BBQ Forum. Im there most days.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

It's good to see lots of familiar names still around here. I've lurked around from time to time. I saw the new Mods (well I guess not so new these days) congrats, looks like the board is doing really good. We are headed down to the property this week for spring break, cant wait to see how much rain we caught and get some fishing in...the LMB population really exploded last year after the pond refilled. Im hoping to snag some big CNBG this year too, but prolly never as big as Dr. Franken-Bruces freaks of nature. DD - I hope you got a full pond, its been crazy in Texas the last few years for pond owners. Gator great to hear from you again. Glad to hear all is going well. Any more good products to let us know about ? Thanks for asking ewest. Somewhere between now and about 2 years ago my idea of making spices and selling them on the internet for fun - got serious. I now have 6 flavors of seasonings, 5 pepper sauces, bbq sauce and gift baskets. We are selling in over 30 retail locations + my pepper sauce is sold in Market Street (a specialty grocery store). Im not sure where it's going, but its been fun.

Glad you checked back in, Gator! Stick around for awhile. I'll have to look for those sauces...which retail stores are carrying them?

Hiya Gator, man it's been ages, I'm glad you came back and gave us an update. For you folks that are new to pond boss. Read this thread the gator experiment and this thread The return of Sneaky Pete. Not many of us have predators in our pond that consider humans as forage base but Gator sure did. Congratulations on winning the award for your spice, that's quite an accomplishment. I hope you post some photos. I know you've been busy but don't be such a stranger! I'm glad you're posting here again!

Thanks everyone, Sneaky Pete - Upon recommendation of a TPW Officer, he was "taken out", literally. Once habituated to humans, they are a danger to any unspecting human that may wander by + gators move around a lot. I heard from locals that gators were being fed off of a public bridge in creek system that connects with my pond, several miles away. I suspect Ole Sneaky was one that had been fed before coming to my place. I sure did hate to see Ole Sneaky go, I could have manged having him around if it were just me, but with kids and the potential for tresspassers, I had no other choice. Who knows, maybe some new little sneakers will show up in the lake this year. As for where to buy the SuckleBusters spices, look here, http://www.sucklebusters.com/retail-locations-i-16.html OR you can buy them off of my website. If you buy from the website, use this double-secret probation coupon code, "TBBQF", for 25% off your order. I'll try to come by more often.

Hey Gator, I like to smoke & have a 5' homebuilt off-set smoker. Have been sniffing around these two web sites: http://www.barbecuenews.com/ and http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/but wondering if there are some other sites that are useful?

David - good sites. FYI, the National BBQ News is running an article on us next month. Check out the "Texas BBQ Forum". You can find a link on my website homepage or do a Goggle search (I'm not sure if it is appropriate to post a link to another forum here).
