Somehow I didnt start reading this thread from the beginning until now. Not to worry, Theo, although there were some nice bull bluegill, there were also lots of smaller ladies. They were all probably hanging out in a vulnerable portion of the pond. That is one reason I started fishing mine at less than 1 yr. old, of course I dont live on the frozen tundra. In .9 acres, you have meny more just like that. These were probably not quite as healthy as the rest. We should all strive to help mother nature in her thinning process. Remember, bluegill, and ponds became popular during the great depression to help feed people.
Bait up, fish, have the kids clean and cook them. Yea, right.
