I hope you get another right away, that is what I did when my 18 year old cat Romeo died, I waited 2 weeks and got two rescued kittens, Sampson & Delilah. They are five now, and they are the best. There are lots of animals out there that need good owners who give them great lives. You dog is in dog heaven, and when you get up there he will be waiting for you. I know my heaven will be blue lakes without algae and lots and lots of cats.
