I was looking for some advice:

I recently built a new horse barn on our existing farm. For 20 years we have supplied water from a viable spring fed pond by way of a pump on the shore diverting the water into various hoses, and carried buckets in the winter.

I would like to use the pond year round with a buried water line that goes to the new stable.

I am having a hard time finding information on how to go about this.

My concerns are:
damaging the integrity of the pond's wall, freezing and pump type and location.

Howdy, Mrs. B, and welcome to the forum.

Water supply from the pond to the barn is definitely possible. We should be able to figure out what all you need to do the job best. At our farm, we have gravity fed water supplies from two ponds to fields below the dams on both of our ponds, and run water to out horse barn 365 days per Ohio year from a well dedicated to the barn.

How far is it from the pond to your horse barn? More importantly, what is the elevation difference between the pond and the barn? I assume the barn is higher.
