What I can't figure out is why these guys perpetrated a hoax that could and was easily debunked. I'm not aware of any monetary gain. 15 minutes of fame? The satisfaction of seeing and laughing at people getting suckered into the possibility?
Ideas?
My wife and I were saying the same thing. Why ruin your reputation, be a laughingstock, and lose your jobs over such a weak hoax?
I got a laugh out of the "Independent investigator" that it was a fake. What a waste when any 5 year old could have debunked it.
