I’ve asked this question before with little response, so I’m gonna try again. We are located in south central Kansas, about 20 miles north of the oklahoma boarder. We finished excavation on our new pond 30 days ago. It will be about 2 acres when it’s full, averaging 10-12 feet deep, with some gradual slopes and a couple nice shelves, as well as some flooded trees. It has a small spring that runs about 10 months out of the year, as well as run-off from surrounding grassland. The surrounding soil is a sandy dirt, they hit clay as they got down a couple feet, and the deepest areas are shale. We would like to stock Wipers, Walleye & Smallmouth Bass. We intend on having a feeding program for our Wipers and our hatchery guy said they can provide us some SMB that will eat pellets as well.
1. Can this variety of fish work in our pond together?
2. What’s the best forage fish to stock with this variety?
3. Can Walleye be trained to eat pellets?
