Pretty cool Dwight, but you have way too many C-Clamps tho. I cleaned out my truck a few days ago and found two that were hiding from years past. An appreciative co-worker is now in possession of these devices.
Those pneumatic roller stools are a must for anyone nearing geezerhood or beyond! If I could, I would buy one for every member here!

Dwight, that looks great.
2 things:
1) Make sure the strap and locking mechanism on the winch is very strong. If the rollers work as designed, the locking mechanism and the strap is the only thing holding the boat on the trailer as you pull it from the water.
2) Make taller guides so the boat will be between the bunks when pulled out of the water. I found that was a problem if the trailer tail end was in 5' of water at a steep ramp with a side wind. PITA to keep the boat straight on the trailer as it was pulled out.

PITA to keep the boat straight on the trailer as it was pulled out. This is the third of these conversions I have done. The winch is heavy duty and there is also a safety strap just in case. The boat is also strapped at the rear so it won't roll forward and up in an emergency stop. There are guides on the trailer to center you up when loading. With the rollers there is no reason to back in very far down on the ramp. When I tested this, three roller pairs were in the water for both loading and unloading. Pretty much effortless.

Aluminum boats with rollers will dent all up. I am guessing this is why you have so many rollers. Travel to far with an aluminum boat with large motor on the back and if the rollers are not in the right spot like on a seam they will create a leek in the boat with a nice dent. Been there done that.

Cheers Don. What about having the rollers just used to load and unload? If the rollers were installed in a manner that allowed them to raise and lower, then you could raise them, pull onto the trailer with ease, then lower them below the level of the bunk for transport.

Oh ya that would would work perfect and so smooth and easy. The water on the carpet is really the only thing that helps the aluminum boat slide up the bunks. We have not seen any denting from these roller conversions and yes the rollers are close together where the weight is heaviest. I suppose if you had a relatively thin hulled aluminum boat and the rollers were too far apart that could be a problem.

Answer for Mr. canyoncreek.
The channels are made of from 1/8"x2"x3" angle iron. The holes along the 2" sides are drilled parallel by clamping the angles back to back. Everything is squared up and parallel prior to welding the angles together; 3" side butted together.

Thanks Dwight. I can see now the welding and how you did it. That helps and i can't imagine how effortless it must be now to load and unload. Thanks for the pictures.
