Pond Boss
Bob Lusk is going to shock my pond and hold a mini Pond Boss conference at my home in rural Brownstown next Tuesday May 1.

Plans are for Bob to shock the pond and discuss his findings starting at 2:00 PM. We will have copies of the previous shocking results so that we can see how pond management is progressing.

After that we will hold a mini conference lakeside. We will likely conclude by around 5:00 PM.

If you are interesting in attending please PM me or send me an email. My email address is listed in my profile. We need to know about how many people are going to attend, and I will email you driving direction to my place.

If you are attending and have specific questions please let me know. Bob always knows the answers to every question, but if he knows in advance what your questions are he will taylor his presentation to address your issues. In previous meetings attendees have brought samples of pond weeds they would like to have identified and find out how to deal with them, etc.

This will also be a great time to meet Dave "Mongo" Sefton. He can likely answer any pond construction or repair questions you may have.

As usual a good pond boss event comes up and I have to be somewhere else. Bing I would love to come but have to be in Chicago for work. Maybe next time.
Lassig, sorry you can't make it -- are you sure you can't call in sick?
Explosive d........ Its what Field and Stream says to use for an excuse for going deer hunting during the best days of the rut.
If lassig has that maybe he would be better off not attending.

Valid point. But it would work as a good excuse to take off work wink
I am sure there will be some sort of post event info for those who can not attend.

Sound's like fun! Nothing like the real thing smile
Bing: I have to check my schedule; but hope to attend. You're not that far away and I attended the last one at the firehouse I think it was. Could I get an address for my GPS?

As an aside, I should probably have my 17 acre pond shocked some time; but I know I need to remove as many catfish as possible and lots of bass. We set two trotlines and a net overnight last weekend. Caught three malnourished LMB (heads of a 6-7 pounders; but weighed just 4.5), several fat channel cats in the 8 pound range (only weighed one; but it was about 8.5), and about a dozen bullheads in the pound range.
Ranger -- I hope you can make it. It looks like we are going to have a good turn out. I don't know if you have met Bob Lusk or heard him speak but you are in for a real treat either way. He is so knowledgeble and so entertaining. I have seen him get up before a crowd and speak for three hours without notes and never repeats himself.
You Illinois and Indiana boys have way too much fun!

So, who is providing the entertainment? Ray Stevens, Roy Clark, Bill Anderson ... ?

Enjoy yourselves (without the rest of us.)

Ken

P.S. Can you tell that some of us might be just a little bit jealous? grin Our version of your mini-conference might include catching a few bullheads from a pond deep in Appalachia, currently covered with snow!
We are thinking T Graham Brown and Bobby Bare might show up, but that is a long shot.
I attended one where Bob spoke at a firehouse there a few years back (bought some raffled items including a Croxley jukebox).

It looks like I will be able to make it. I will likely be a little bit late though. Could I get your address or directions?
Looking forward to seeing you again.

Bing, your coordinates put me in the middle of highway 45W at what seems to be Trenton, Tennessee.
Then I went to Vandalia, IL and followed your written directions, finding your place at 38 57 33N and 88 56 2W. Those three degrees of latitude made a big difference.
You certainly have an impressive place.
Dudley, thanks, Senior Moment error I suppose. It promises to be a good time for those of you who are nearby and can make it.
Naturally I'm going to be in Fla next and miss this! I'd love to been able to attend!. I look forward hearing what was duscussed.
Just need to bump this. Any Pond Bosser's going to make it? Sure would like enough people here so that Bob can address a crowd.
bob Lusk is on his way to Brownstown from Columbus Indiana. The weather is rainy today but we still feel we can electrofish, however if we cannot we will still have a mini-conference talking session.

Everything starts at 2:00 PM tomorrow, Tuesday May 1.
Bing: I'm probably going to be late and may have to leave early; but I'm planning on coming. I'll be coming from the southeast. Do you have a street address (mailing address) that I could plug into my GPS?
Bing, Bob & Mongo: Thanks for inviting us to the mini-conference and sharing your info!

Bing: You have a beautiful place!
Any update? How did it go? Any video or pictures to share with us?

(Pondboss fan jumping up and down) smile
Big time yesterday!
Got to spend some good time with Rangersedge, talking about his project(s), with Bing and Mongo and a total of 20 people. Bing shot quite a few photos...
We electrofished Bing's pond, looked and compared his fish population.
Did Mongo's in the evening...harvested a bunch of his fish for him.

Headed toward Nebraska in a few minutes...may stop by and see Shawn Banks on the way.

Thanks to Bing and Mrs. Bing for hosting us...they did a great job!
That sounds awesome, wish I could have made it. frown

Bing - How did the electro go? Good population? Please feel free to to post pix and video. smile
Sounds like I really missed out here. I try to make the next one
We had a great time with the meeting and lake shocking. Pictures were taken and pond shocking information is being tabulated. We will post results and pictures soon but we have busy week ahead and likely won't get it done until early next week.

As Bob said we had about 20 attendees, at least four were forum members or subscribers. Lusk did two sweeps of the pond with the shock boat and then discussed pond management issues and answered questions for a couple of hours.

After he finished with my pond a small caravan made their way to Mongo's spread and they made a couple of passes around one of he and Joni's many ponds and shocked up a lot of fish.

We sent Bob and his trusty sidekick, Chris Steelman (Young Blood) on their way early this morning. They planned to hook up with Shawn Banks along the way and arrive at Condello's spread this afternoon.
