Unless you're one of those transplanted Texans I assume you mean Yellow Perch? grin

Yes you can. Absolutely! If you have largemouth bass they may keep their numbers so low they are an incidental catch though.

There are some threads here about managing ponds for yellow perch. Bill Cody (aka Dr. Perca) is one of the authorities here on doing just that. He maintains some very large perch in his pond even with reproduction, with careful management. He also does not have any largemouth in the pond.

Do not let Cecil tell you any different, he himself is a noted authority on how to raise beautiful and large Yellow Perch in a pond setting. I have picked his brain as well as pestered Bill for advice many times. Both of these fine men know Perca Flavescens a.k.a. Yellow Perch and what it takes to care for them and make them thrive in a pond situation.

In my opinion, there isn't a finer eating fish swimming anywhere. Stock lots and feed them heavily.

Grant if you want more advice about stocking or raising yellow perch in your pond it would be helpful to provide more information about the pond. Age? Existing fish? Weed community? Clear or murky water?
