I now have a pair of kingfishers on my new pond. Usually they set on a tall limb of a tree or more times than not atop a 20 ft piece of pvc pipe I have driven in the deep water of the pond. I feed my fish inside a 12 foot wide pvc circle to contain the feed in the area. This morning the kingfishers were setting on the feeder right above the circle. My question is will they eat the floating feed? Also, am I just setting my fish up to be slaughterd by the birds while they feed in the circle under the feeder. Just don't want to be doing something stupid to my brand new fish.

The kingfisher is a fish eater. I don't think they eat fishfood but they are seeing the concentration of feeding activities in your ring. Not sure how big of fish they can eat but by their size I would think YOY and minnows.

They also eat a variety of foods including frogs crustaceans snakes birds bugs,
