106 today, 102 tomorrow, 99 for the next four days after that. Could be Indiana's highest temps since the 1930's. We've had .2" of rain for the month, down from an average of 4.07". Just 12" for the year so far.

No rain in sight. When your livelihood depends on the grass growing lush and green, this kind of weather means you stand around a lot.

How about a fish fry on the sidewalk?

That's awful! For the last several days it has felt like autumn here. Bright blue skies, breezy, and in the 70s. But, we are supposed to hit 99 tomorrow, which is very hot for us. We only hit around 100 a few times a year at most.

Yeah we are having the same problem here too. Man this lack of rain is killing us. Most of our state is in a burn ban and most have already called off fireworks. Man you can hardly walk down the street without starting a fire!! smile Something has got to change and soon!!!

Peeked over 100 here yesterday too and with the humidity the heat index was over 109 I believe.

At work I saw a cottonwood seed hair literally frozen in midair, not moving, the air was so thick.

98 here this weekend, but the entire state is pretty much standing water from all the rain. it is going to basically be a suana...
Posted By: Cecil Baird1 Re: 103, 107, 103 - 06/28/12 05:14 PM
It's supposed to get to a 104 or so here in northern Indiana today. However as has been the case for the past several weeks the humidity is very low at 20 percent or less. (It's a dry heat!LOL)

We are in severe drought conditions with no rain in sight. Burn ban and no fireworks. (I'm not into fireworks anyway). Cold fronts come through with a few sprinkles or no rain except for the lucky few that have an isolated thunderstorm.

4:30 pm and my local station is giving a current temp of 105 degrees, with a humidity adjusted "feels like".....117 degrees.

My thermometer shows 102, and it's in the shade.

Just walked outside I'm pretty sure it's pushing 150°

109 reg temp. Have not mowed the lawn in 6 weeks for fear of starting a fire and it really does not need it. Pond is losing a lot of water fast to evaporation. Down about four feet and falling.

My Grandson and I went to my place Tuesday and Wednesday. We hit 111 in the shade on Tuesday. I came home on Wednesday at noon.

We have water standing in every single divit or low laying depression. Wish I could get it to you guys in need of it. A sign on a local church said
"if you have been prying for rain you can stop now"........

Just walked in from spraying all day. Seems I never remember how brutal the summers here can be.

By 4 this afternoon, my algae problem didn't look so bad.

My lake's starting to drop like a rock. Another month, and I'll just be mowing the shoreline weeds.

count your blessings Bobby, Never relized how precious rain was til I had a pond

I spent about 1/2 of the afternoon outside working, and it was brutal. Now I know why I don't want to move to Texas. My car thermometer said 111°F, and it was in the shade. During the 1 hr drive home it dropped all the way down to 103. Looked at the weather when I got home and they said 50% humidity here. Dry heat my a..! 1/2 gallon of water + 32 oz of gatorade and I'm still thirsty a half hour later.
Posted By: sprkplug Re: 103, 107, 103 - 06/28/12 10:43 PM
Yeah, it sure feels like the humidity went higher than what they said it would today.

Or a garden with no automatic water source!

Scot,

You had humidity over your way but not where I'm at. I'm now wondering if you got any of those storms that blew up but of course missed us again.

Nope, still dry. Lightening, but the storm split in 2 before it got here.

106 down in Carbondale today. AC quit working for this road trip so we drove home 4 hrs very very very hot. Probably one of the more miserable 4 hour stretches of my short very sheltered and modernly convenienced life.

Indianapolis had a real temp. of 104 yesterday and Muncie near me had 105. The pond is dropping like crazy and I am seeing soybean leaves starting to yellow. What will July and August be like?

John, it might be a lot like Texas.

This map is updated every thursday. I can't believe we are not considered in a drought, here in Louisville.

I cannot believe how widespread this is... hopefully not the new norm with climate change. My house is not well-suited to receive central air. No vents in the upstairs.

Finally got some rain today just after noon. High winds with it though and some trees down. I may have passed a small tornado on my way back from picking up some fish feed. A tree was down blocking one lane and off to the south was a massive cloud of dust in the air that may have been spinning. I was so concerned about getting around the tree I didn't really get a good look at it. As soon as I got around the tree I got the hell out of there.

I think we got a quarter inch of rain which isn't a lot but we'll take it!

Temps dropped from 95 to 65 and haven't been above 72 the rest of the day.

Camping all weekend with the family. Swimming will definitely be in the mix to stay cool.
Posted By: Cecil Baird1 Re: 103, 107, 103 - 06/29/12 09:34 PM
I think there's going to be a lot of water activity all over the country this weekend. I'm glad I won't have to go to the local lakes this weekend to swim. It will be a madhouse on our local lakes.

Very true. It will be nice when my little beach if finally complete.

You bet! Nothing like a private place to swim. I don't have a beach but we attach a ladder to the pier in the summer and it works quite well. The wife has knee issues and swimming is a great way for her to exercise without putting stress on the knees.

We have a pool and it will get A LOT of use!

Only mid 80's and not too humid. Quite nice actually at this hour with the cool breeze from LM.

It hit about 105 here today. Over just a few minutes it dropped from about 95 to 75. Power went down about 30 minutes ago. Lots of trees down. Very high winds with driving rain. The new full house generator isn't hooked up yet. But, my Android phone and Kindle are working. So are my old Alladin mantel lamps.

It hit 104 here, with a lot higher humidity than yesterday. I watched the storms blow up on the radar, looked like Northern Indiana was going to get something. Not a drop down here, blue skies all day long. 10:30 p.m. and it's still 82 degrees.
