My pond is down about 6 FT. The bull rushes are all along the bank but about 3 ft. from the water. Can I use round-up on the Bull Rushes as long as I do not get it in the water?

In my opinion, rushes around the pond shoreline are beneficial. We consider them non-invasive and useful for filtering silt and nutrients before the water makes it to the pond.

If you treat shoreline/ripirian vegetation, you're removing the naturally occuring filter to your pond. If I woke up in your shoes this morning, I'd leave the rushes alone...they'll do you more good than harm.

Thanks Trent. My house sits 50 ft. from the lake. I was only talking about taking the bull rushes out along the 200 feet along the back of the house. The rest of pond will not be touched. But thanks again, had not consider the benefits.
