Greetings from Port Clinton, OH., where I sit with Blaine Hession, TJ Hudson (and friend, Wynn), Blair-Oh Canada (and his youngest brother, Dean), Al/FireIsHot, catmandoo, Bruce Condello, Yolk Sac, and Omaha.

We have been here since Wednesday, and have all limited out on walleye on Thursday and Friday.

This is, from left to right, myself, Al/FireIsHot, Josh?Omaha, and Blaine:

Here's another of Blaine with a dark channel catfish from the pond at our compound:

And here's Condello with a "Smellie" from the compound pond:

Dave, I think the question is, whether the lake and the surrounding community will be able to "bounce back" after this bunch of ruffians and vagabonds leave the area???

Bruce. Your hair is a mess, you need a shave and your cloths look like you slept in them for a while.

Are you trying to avoid the PEZ look this June? laugh wink smile

Us guy's up here should organize and hit LM for some Salmon.

I heard it was perfect last friday at Ludington Michigan.

"There was a big water temp break at 12 miles out and 10 miles to the North so we motored there on glass smooth waters under cloudless skies and except for the distant sighting of an occasional shipping barge we were the only boat on the water for as far as the eye could see. The Steelhead were feeding right on the surface and at times and you could see their tails sticking out of the water as they cruised along looking for bugs.
The air temps were in the 70's one min then as we entered the colder water we could see our breath as the water temps would change from 54 degrees to 40 degrees, we fished in and out along this water temp break line.

Our take for the morning was 14 Steelhead ranging from 4-6 pounds up to a beautiful 13 pounder, plus we also caught one Lake Trout for good measure and all of this was done within about 5 hours.

The most amazing thing about the fishing on Friday was besides the spectacular weather and the privacy of owning the whole lake or so it seemed, the calm 530 foot deep water was so crystal clear you could see the fish 12'down which is something you won't see along the Indiana shoreline waters."

They were fishing on the "Polecat".

I'd rather eat Walleye than Salmon tho....

On Saturday night, Condello cooked up all the walleye 'cheeks.'

These tidbits were about the size of half-dollar coins.

Damn were they good. A few splashes of hot sauce, and the fight was on!!!

Several times, more than two people would be reaching for the same 'cheek.' It could have gotten ugly!!!!

Cheeks are the best part of the fish!!!
Posted By: outdoorlivin247 Re: The Elasticity of Lake Erie - 06/30/14 03:41 AM
Cheeks are pretty much the filet mignon of the walleye.. Most cleaning houses or charters keep them and never pass them on to their clients unless requested.. SAVAGES!!!

I rarely post pics of myself, but I'm proud of this one. My first Yellow Perch! What was cool about it, was the second it rolled in the water, I knew exactly what it was from all the YP posts on the forum. I know it's not a brute, but it's a moment I'll never forget.

I've got more pics of the trip, but the one's that Bruce posted are far better than mine. I point and click, but he thinks then clicks.

I now call the 'cheeks' "Buttons of Love" or "Love Buttons."

A few more to add.

One of Al's walleyes from the first day.

One of mine from the first day.

Blaine pulled up two 29" walleye the first day. Here's one.

Another photo of Al's yellow perch.

My best walleye of the trip. 28".

Photobomb!

Yeah, really cool pics!

Once you pass the mud line from the channel or port and motor out a bit, it usually get's quite blue.

Clarity can be incredible out on a big lake!
