Pond Boss
I ordered and started using Aquamax 500 feed ($36/50# FYI) this weekend in my feeders instead of GameFishChow. My pond is 1 acre with BG, RES, LMB, and CC.

I have a few questions:
1) This food is labeled "carnivore" food. Are BG carnivores or omnivores? If they are omnivores, will this Aquamax500 be sufficient food?
2) Do RES eat Aquamax 500?
3) The pellet size seems to be about the size of the smallest GFC pellets. From a recentpost, it seems this is good for BG 5-6" and greater. How do I "feed" the 2-5" BG in order to increase their growth?
4) Any chance the LMB will eat them?

Thanks,
BG are Carnivores,
Yes that food will work just fine. You may even want to mix some 400 in it for the smaller BG.

Not sure if RES will eat it? I would think they would but I can for for sure?
If you can I would mix your food. 2 inch BG may take AM400 better but I bet they can chew on the 500 and get pieces of it. Your 5 inch should be able to handle 500 just fine.

LMB??? I'm gonna say no, unless your LMB have been feed trained from the get go it's very, very hard to get LMB to eat fish food.

Some other options would be soak some of the food in water before feeding it by hand. The smaller fish can pick apart the hydrated pellets.

RES will eat AquaMax, just not readily from the surface. I watch them picking pellets up off the bottom.

If the LMB don't eat the pellets, they surely will be eating the BG that eat the pellets. wink
on item 4.

In my experience LMB will eat pellets after you Establish a feeding spot, it becomes a learned behavior and they want the food that everyone else is getting. Also to increase that behavior you can add some feed trained LMB and once they start eating at a established feeding site others will follow. They seem to get mad that other LMB are getting food and start eating it. This is just my experience, and when I say established, I mean a good spot where you feed regular come rain or shine.
